Uintah Basin Cooperative Weed Management Area
Uintah County is part of a large weed control partnership known as the Uintah Basin Cooperative Weed Management Area (UBCWMA). The UBCWMA is an organization made up of 22 federal, state and local government agencies and private businesses in Daggett, Duchesne and Uintah Counties.
The purpose of this organization is to prevent the introduction and reproduction of noxious and invading weeds throughout the Uintah Basin. Because we are a cooperative unit, many of the barriers to effective weed control have been minimized or removed such as political boarders and jurisdictions. We are authorized to cooperate and expend resources to control noxious weeds in any partners jurisdiction. The UBCWMA partnership increases our political clout thus enabling us to successfully compete for state and federal funding for our weed control projects.
